A Slice of Goodness sits quietly on Douglas Boulevard in Roseville, offering a focused, homey experience centered around hearty pies, simple sandwiches, and fresh salads. This modest spot feels like stepping into a friend's kitchen rather than a typical café or deli. The dining area is small, with limited seating, which encourages an early arrival if you want to nab a table and catch the full assortment of pies before they sell out.

The shop’s strength lies in its lineup of homemade pies that rotate with the seasons. Flavors like French Apple Caramel Pecan, Peach & Apricot, and Chocolate Chest pie stand out for their generous fruit fillings and well-balanced crusts — the kind that invite slow savoring rather than quick bites. Alongside the pie, customers often settle in with half sandwiches, such as a thoughtfully prepared tuna salad on crisp lettuce, or simple mixed salads that provide a fresh counterpoint to the richness of the desserts.

The atmosphere here is relaxed and genuine, run by a small team that customers describe as genuinely warm and welcoming. The intimacy of the space means conversation flows easily, whether you’re catching up with family or enjoying some quiet solo time over a slice and a cup. Given the limited number of tables, weekday afternoons or early lunch hours can be quieter, while weekends and midday tend to fill up quickly with locals seeking a comforting, homemade meal.

This is a spot best suited for those looking for a down-to-earth, no-frills lunch or a sweet treat that feels rooted in local tradition. Folks who appreciate a leisurely pie experience paired with simple but satisfying sides will find it especially rewarding. If you’re passing through Roseville or live nearby, plan to come early in the day and settle in for a casual meal that tastes like home.

A hidden gem! A small café serving homemade soup, sandwiches, and salads. But wait, there's more! What you really go here for is the amazingly delicious homemade pies!!! And the ladies that run this place are the sweetest... Just so you know, days/hours are limited, but it is so worth it. Go early so you won't miss out on the best pie selection.

Really enjoy it! Half sandwich with potato salad and a pickle and a slice of pie, yes please! Lunch was great. So happy to go back with the family.

This was a fun place for lunch. Their menu consisted mainly sandwich, soup, or salad with pie! It was just enough. Everything there is home made. I felt like I was back home in Momma's kitchen. Pies are fantastic with great crusts and plenty of filling. Get there early cause there only about 10 tables to sit at. We put this place on our favorites list!

I went to Slice of Goodness for the first time yesterday on the recommendation of a friend who is a long-time customer and I was very pleasantly surprised! This unassuming little place has a pleasant atmosphere, and welcoming staff. I ordered the combo of half a tuna sandwich and a piece of pie. I'm very picky about tuna sandwiches, and this one was absolutely delicious, with some sort of Special Sauce and spices that truly enhanced the tuna. It was full of flavor. I ordered chocolate chess pie( NOT Chest pie as is labeled on the web picture:) My pie was served warm and was a dense, fudgy delight. I'm sorry I did not get my servers name, but she was delightful. Can't wait to go back!

Went for first time a few weeks ago to try the pies for Thanksgiving. Had the half sandwich and slice of pie. It felt like I was at my grandmas house for lunch. Tasted the pie and it was absolutely delicious. And my pies for Thanksgiving were incredible. I wish I had ordered more!!!

Best pies I’ve ever had, (besides my late Grandma’s of course) and worth every penny!! We are so lucky to have this business still up, and running. Thank you for making my Birthday a great one!!

Wow what a hidden gem. Probably the best pie I've ever had. Hours are limited and it's not cheap, but the place is like a step back in time. Lunch is presented very nicely but the pie is where it's at. Thank you Debbie!
